2-3 Scratches

Bill and Eric team up to save Sookie from a mysterious creature. Jason has second thoughts about the Light of Day retreat anti-vampire agenda, but Sarah and Steve counter his doubts with flattery and promises. Sam leaves town after alienating everyone. Jessica heads over to Merlotte's, where a smitten Hoyt falls for her. Tara is attracted to Eggs but is rudely interrupted by a fog.

2-2 Keep This Party Going

Sookie is forced to babysits Jessica, as well as the romantic inconveniences the teen vampire's presence creates. At the Light of Day leadership conference, Jason makes an impression on its ambitious leaders, Steve and Sarah Newlin. Maryann casts her spell on Merlotte's patrons.

A shocking murder outside Merlotte's bar has the people of Bon Temps reeling; Sookie and Bill's relationship is tested; Sam recalls an encounter he had with Maryann as a 17-year-old.

Sookie finds a connection to the murders in Bon Temps. Jason finds a new goal in life. Bill temps fate continuing to find a way to rescue Sookie from harm. Sam is troubled by a familiar face from his past.

1-11 To Love is to Bury

Bill and Eric come out of the tribune astonished over Jessica. Sookie and Sam visit a philandering police officer to get information behind the mystic visions. Jason and Amy ponder over their future. Lafayette decides to pay a state senator a visit on the campaign trail over his hypocracy. Sookie and Sam begin to get closer. Jason lands himself in trouble with the law.

1-10 I Don't Wanna Know

Sam divulges a secret to Sookie. Tara finally see's Miss Jeanette's true intentions. Sookie has visions that disturb her at an engagement party. Jason and Amy wonder what to do with Eddie. Bill is faced with a harsh punishment but the magister has other ideas involving a human Jessica.

1-9 Plaisir D' Amour

Bill's concern for Sookie's safety causes him to run afoul of the vampire's code. Meanwhile, Jason and Amy resort to extreme measures to satisfy their "V" habit, Tara follows in her mother's footsteps and Sam is tapped by Bill to look after Sookie.

Sookie braces herself for more tragedy. Tara thinks of a new approach with dealing with her anger by adopting a similar therapy to Lettie Mae. Amy charms a crowd showing a darker side to Jason after the V juice runs out. Bill persuades Sookie into helping Eric using her gifts to catch criminals.

Bill gets into action after he learns of Sookies painful past. Jason makes a connection with Amy in Fangtasia searching for V juice. A trio of mysterious red necks come for their old friend Bill seeking justice against vampires.

Numbed by tragedy, Sookie looks for refuge from the cacophony of her friends' and neighbors' inner voices. After lashing out at his sister and decking Andy, Jason wrestles with withdrawal symptoms from his V juice habit. Tara resists the overtures of her mother Lettie Mae (Adina Porter), who's trying to rid herself of a demon and needs her daughter's help. Sam and Tara make a connection in their mutual search for "something real."

1-5 Sparks Fly Out

At the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting Bill is invited to talk about his life as a Confederate Soldier. Bill then has a question and answer session when one member of the DGD shows Bill a tintype of the Compton family. Sam, Sookie, Tara and Jason are also present at the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting. Jason notices Tara while he is high on vampire blood.
